I am Lyla Gupo . Currently, I hold an office position in Grace Mission College, a Christian Higher Educational Institution in the province of Oriental Mindoro. I am based in Subaan, Socorro, Oriental Mindoro. I took my bachelor`s degree, Bachelor of Secondary Education with specialization in Filipino in ABADA COLLEGE, Pinamalayan, Oriental Mindoro. I am more involved now in personal and professional development more than ever. I am eyeing to have my masters degree in Special Education -Intellectual Disabilities Stream in Philippine Normal University preferrably next year due to Covid-19 constraints. I hope to finish my doctorate degree in the same field in the near future. I am engaged in personal development also by enrolling in online courses about personal development. I already passed the Licensure Examination For Teachers in 2017.I love reading books because it stimulates my mind. I am also into writing. I write about topics which seem interesting to me like rising from personal challenges like having a mental illness. I strongly believe that our personal struggles should not derail us from achieving our dreams and reach places. I had experiences in tutoring which started as early as high school when I taught a kid in elementary who was enrolled in a private school in all her subjects. Moreover, I gained a lot of tutorial experiences during this pandemic as I taught preparatory, elementary and high school students. I also taught professional subjects in Education course in my college tutee. I am confident teaching language-related subjects in high school including Social Studies except Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics. I teach most subjects in elementary but Mathematics is not my cup of tea. I was also a volunteer teacher in public elementary school in our town. Basically, I am more of a verbal linguistic than mathematically minded person. I am also nurturing my interpersonal skills. I am an advocate of Social and Emotional Learning, an approach to teaching that originated in Yale University in the United States.

Experience: I used to do tutorial sessions with kindergarten, elementary and high school tutees that I had. Occassionally, I do tutorial sessions with college students especially in language related subjects or subjects about Arts and Humanities in Senior High School. I also did writing activities for an Education student who was also doing part-time job during the pandemic. We communicate online via messenger because he was based in Metro Manila. I did service to him like making reports, reflections and few of the most challenging were drafting a budget plantilla (my tutee was a Bachelor in Elementary Education student specializing in Elementary Science and Mathematics in PNU). It was a trying moment for me transitioning from language specialization to more critical subjects like Math and Science.
